Chapin Beach, positioned at the northwest corner of Dennis, is a favorite among owners of four-wheel-drive vehicles, which are allowed with a permit. At the end of this beach peninsula, Barnstable Harbor can be seen to the left as well as the lighthouse of Sandy Neck beach across the water. At low tide, anyone searching for shellfish will bask in the ability to walk more than a mile out on the tidal flats of Cape Cod Bay. At high tide, it is a great place to fish from shore. At nightfall, this is one of the most beautiful beaches to watch the sun set on Cape Cod. The beach has no lifeguards, and portable toilets are available. There is limited paid parking.
